Let There Be Light!

The Light Exposes What is Hidden to Bring Transformation

Scripture
Genesis 1:3 (NIV)
“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”

Reflection
The Spirit of God hovered over the waters like one expecting life to emerge. Then God spoke: “Let there be light,” and there was light. Light was the first step toward order and clarity. Even before the sun, moon, and stars, light existed.

Before anything else could be formed, there needed to be light. Light reveals what is hidden. It exposes what was once unseen and makes way for transformation. The earth was still formless when light appeared, and yet God said it was good. That is because the presence of light marked the beginning of something good.

In the same way, God’s light brings revelation into our lives while we are still in darkness—and that is good. The Holy Spirit illuminates our hearts, helping us see clearly, revealing truth, exposing darkness, and guiding us toward what is right. Revelation is not meant to condemn, but to lead us into freedom, healing, and truth. As Jesus said, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17, NIV). The knowledge of truth sets us free.

You may be in a place where something unpleasant about you has been revealed and you fill ashamed. The truth is, God is exposing that situation to you in order to liberate you and not to condemn you. His light brings transformation not condemnation. God is extending grace to you right now. Receive the grace of God and be set free. Allow Him to do what He would like to do in your life.

Prayer
Holy Spirit, please reveal to me what I need to know. Lead me in Your path and help me understand Your truth. Enable me to submit to You and to receive Your grace as You shine your light on every darkness in my life. Thank You for bringing light and clarity into my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
